Free school breakfast for year 7 pupils who are eligible for free school meals

Flintshire County Council has introduced a scheme to offer a free breakfast/mid-morning snack for Year 7 students entitled to free school meals now that schools have returned after the Easter break.

This scheme is intended to ensure that children start the day with a nutritious meal, leaving them with enough money to buy a substantial lunch.

The scheme will be administered by the Council’s catering partner Newydd Catering and Cleaning Ltd.  Breakfast items will be available at morning break and includes cereals, fruit and vegetables and yoghurt.

As with the regular free school meals allowance, any unspent allowance will not be carried over to the following day.
