]]> Hawarden High School are pleased to have completed Stage 2 of the Careers Wales Quality Award pilot.

The Careers Wales Quality Award (CWQA) supports the development of purposeful and relevant Careers and Work-Related Experiences (CWRE) across the curriculum, with learners aged 3 to 16.

The CWQA has 3 stages, each with a different focus. Stage 2 asked us to realise CWRE in the curriculum through professional learning, stakeholder engagement and effective teaching and learning. The last stage, Stage 3, will look at the impact of CWRE for our learners. 

We look forward to completing Stage 3 of the award over the coming months.

Mae Tîm Iaith yn falch o hyrwyddo’r Gymraeg yn ein hysgol! Gwyliwch ein fideo newydd sy’n annog pawb i ddefnyddio’r Gymraeg gyda hyder, wrth ddathlu amrywiaeth ein cymuned.

As members of Tîm Iaith, we enjoy meeting regularly to share ideas and plan creative ways to promote the Welsh language across our school. We believe it is important that Welsh is spoken and celebrated as part of our daily school life.

To support this, we created this video to encourage everyone — staff and students alike — to use Welsh with confidence. While the video also reflects the wide range of languages spoken in our school community, its central aim is to show how Welsh can stand proudly alongside them and be part of everyday life.

]]> Hawarden High School is thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of our Year 11 pupils in this summer’s GCSE examinations. Once again, our students have delivered exceptional performances across a wide range of subjects. Across the cohort, over three quarters of students achieved the gold standard of five GCSEs at grades A*–C, with a third of students achieving those grades at A*/A. These statistics underline the ambition and commitment of our pupils, supported by dedicated staff and families.
