Congratulations to Mr Lewis who has been awarded Welsh Physics Teacher of the Year by the Institute of Physics.
The Institute of Physics is the professional body and learned society for physics in the UK and Ireland. The IOP awards build and reinforce a sense of community by recognising and rewarding excellence in individuals and teams and their contribution to physics.
On Mr. Lewis being named the IOP Welsh Physics Teacher of the Year, Mr. Simon Budgen, Headteacher of Hawarden High School, said “I am truly delighted that Mr. Lewis has received this national recognition of his efforts to promote physics within and beyond the school. In addition to his classroom success, Mr. Lewis works across the science faculty to support and lead colleagues being highly innovative in his approach to physics education. He is incredibly knowledgeable about his subject and he teaches it in a way that connects with and fosters a love of physics.
